As a kid, I grew up watching and loving mystery stories. So, editing together a piece for me isn't just taking the footage and forming a story. It's taking clues given to me by the cinematographer and director and forming that into the story that will be told.
Editing for me is the creative process of finding the true story hidden in the clips and bringing it to life. That is my goal whenever I sit down to edit something. I'm not satisfied by bland cuts, I want to be like a Sherlock Holmes for a films misdeeds and turn it into something more.
